In each edition, the Mostra proposes a program that prioritizes authorship, risk, and presence. These are films in which the body functions neither as a symbol nor as a theme, but as the very matter of image, time, and language. A cinema that speaks of desire and survival without apology, without explanation, and without negotiating its own complexity.
Created in 2024, the Mostra works in partnership with festivals, cultural spaces, and universities, bringing together public screenings, talks, and professional encounters that connect filmmakers, programmers, and new audiences. It has already held international editions and events in cities such as Oslo, Glasgow, Vienna, and Bratislava, with the institutional support of Itamaraty and the GuimarĂ£es Rosa Institute.
Mostra Queer Brasil is, at once, a showcase and a tool. A curatorial gesture that opens space for Brazilian queer cinema to be seen with the attention it demands, and with the international scale it has already achieved.
